It is found in the alchemical mottow VITRIOL / Visita Interiora Terrae Rectificando Invenies Occultum Lapidem = Visit the interior of the earth and rectifying (i.e. purifying) you will find the hidden/secret stone.
Just a hint, the earth is not literal, the interior you shall visit, is the SELF, and after purification of consciousness, you will find the stone..
All soul has eternal life without doing a thing, eternal consciousness is what the stone is about. This is the transmutation of lead into gold in the analogy, consciousness perfected into a hardened stone, a diamond.
It is in this way that the SELF remains when the shell decays and falls away. This is why it must be experienced, no one can show it to you or give it to you, it must be found within SELF.

I thought I would come and do a little research on this topic since I found out that Benjimen Franklin was an Alchemist. If I’m correct, it was actually his search for the philosphers stone and doing experiments that killed him.
