I live in Holland, and here few drugs are legal, its indeed a relief for thoose who practis spirituality, medicine, or even for those who do it for fun.. But its not perfect.. You cannot grow, or start your own dealing without the government to sponsor it… So he’s right… But as long as government has its way, i’m okay with legalization…
just brilliant
The video interview earinsound refers to is this:

Awesome. I have a lot of respect for this man and his views. i understand he is conroversial for various reasons, but that doesnt render useless what he has to say. I also admire Zerzan very much. We need guys like this now.
My understanding is that you can only patent a plant if you’re the originator. Has anyone yet been able to secure a patent on a plant species which evolution originated in prehistoric times? If the answer is no, then maybe you should reconsider your use of the phrase “Wake up fool”
I tell my stoner friends that we need decriminalization not legalization. Look at Europe … there are places that can legally sell weed.. and ? You are limited to 2 grams per establishment and you cannot have a grow op without a license .. so most of the good weed is still grown illegally. they catch you in their net and fuck you over with laws.
Wake up fool. Plants and even human genes have already been patented. Do your research.
tell me, what are these people’s pretenses? that they have unconventional ideas that actually make sense?
by the way, in a series of interviews on “intentional communities” (on youtube), wilson mentions that he and zerzan are friends and comrades, although he considers zerzan more extreme (which he is).
Wilson and John Zerzan have been bitter enemies for a while.
I think they are both kinda pretentious, but Wilson (under pen name Hakim Bey) is actually fun to read.
Interesting viewpoint, one I haven’t really heard before, but I must disagree. He thinks some big bad corporation would come along and PATENT a plant that has existed for millions of years? There’d be no precedent. He’s just speculating, and even if he’s right it’s not a good enough reason to keep pot illegal. Anyone who opposes legalization endorses the view that people should be punished for doing something that’s not wrong. Slippery slopes aside, drugs must be legal on principle.
fuck em indeed.

yep i fear legalization for the same reasons
‘yes, i would love to live in a country that is not insane.’
